The Diyona diamond stud buyer's guide

A great pair of diamond studs is the most-worn piece of jewelry most women will ever own. This guide walks through the three decisions that matter: setting style, carat weight, and metal.

Choosing your setting style

Four-prong — classic visibility

Four prongs hold the diamond securely on all four sides. Maximum face-up visibility and the most light return. Our most popular setting.

Three-prong (martini) — modern minimalism

Three prongs angled downward give the diamond a "martini glass" silhouette. Sits closer to the ear and shows slightly less metal.

Bezel — secure and contemporary

The diamond is wrapped in a thin band of metal that holds it in place — clean, modern, and the most secure setting. A favorite for active wearers and parents of young children.

Halo — amplified sparkle

A ring of small accent diamonds surrounds the center stone, making it look noticeably larger and adding a glittering perimeter.

Choosing your carat weight

Carat weights for studs are quoted as total carat weight (CTW) — the sum across both ears. A 1.00 CTW pair means 0.50 ct per stone. The most popular sizes are 0.50, 1.00, and 2.00 CTW. Larger sizes (3.00+ CTW) carry more presence but show more readily in side profile.

Choosing your metal

14K yellow, white, and rose gold are all equally durable for daily stud wear. White gold pairs best with diamonds because of color neutrality; yellow and rose are matters of style. All our studs ship with secure push-back posts.

Frequently asked questions

Are lab grown diamonds real diamonds?

Yes. Lab grown diamonds are chemically and optically identical to mined diamonds. They're graded by the same labs (IGI, GIA) on the same 4Cs and have the same hardness (10 on the Mohs scale).

Is carat weight per pair or per stone?

All Diyona stud carat weights are total weight across the pair. So a 2.00 CTW pair has 1.00 ct in each ear.

Which setting style is most secure for active wear?

Bezel settings are the most secure because the diamond is fully encircled by metal. Four-prong is next. Martini (three-prong) settings sit close to the ear but expose more of the stone — great for showcase, less ideal for sports.

Do Diyona studs come with diamond certification?

Every stud above 0.50 ct per stone (1.00 CTW pair) ships with an IGI grading report. Smaller stones are graded in-house against the same 4C standards.

How long does delivery take?

Ready-to-ship studs leave our NYC studio in 2–5 business days. Made-to-order pairs typically take 7–10 business days. Your specific lead time is shown at checkout.

What is your return and warranty policy?

30 days for unworn pieces in original condition (engraved or custom-cut pairs are final sale). All Diyona studs carry a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects, including free re-polishing.
