The Diyona wedding band buyer's guide

A wedding band is the one piece of jewelry you'll wear every day for the rest of your life, so the decisions are practical as much as they are aesthetic. This guide walks through the three choices that matter most: metal, profile and setting style.

Choosing your metal

14k gold — the everyday workhorse

14k is 58.5% pure gold alloyed for hardness. It resists scratching better than 18k, holds polish well, and is the most popular choice for active wear. Available in yellow, white (rhodium-finished) and rose.

18k gold — richer color, softer metal

18k is 75% pure gold — visibly warmer and more saturated than 14k, particularly in yellow. Slightly softer, so micro-scratches show faster. Choose 18k if color depth matters more than scratch resistance.

Platinum — the heirloom choice

Naturally white, hypoallergenic, ~60% denser than gold. Best for full-eternity bands and pairing with a platinum engagement ring.

Style guide — eternity vs. half-eternity vs. plain

Full eternity bands wrap diamonds the entire way around. Maximum sparkle, but they cannot be resized. Half-eternity bands set diamonds across the front 40–60% of the ring — same visual impact while sitting flat against your finger and accommodating future resizing. Plain bands are the most comfortable for daily wear and pair well with a heavily set engagement ring.

Frequently asked questions

Are lab grown diamonds real diamonds?

Yes. Lab grown diamonds are chemically and optically identical to mined diamonds. They're graded by the same labs (IGI, GIA) on the same 4Cs and have the same hardness (10 on the Mohs scale).

Which metal is best for a wedding band?

For most clients we recommend 14k for daily durability, 18k for color depth, and platinum if pairing with a platinum engagement ring or commissioning a full eternity. All three are equally suited for set diamonds.

How long does a Diyona wedding band take to ship?

Most ready-to-ship bands leave our NYC studio in 5 business days. Made-to-order sizes and full eternity bands typically take 7–10 business days. You'll see your specific lead time at checkout.

Can a Diyona eternity band be resized?

Full eternity bands cannot be resized because diamonds wrap the entire shank. We recommend half-eternity for clients who anticipate sizing changes, or sizing very carefully with our complimentary ring sizer.

Do Diyona bands come with diamond certification?

Every center or marquise stone above 0.30ct ships with an IGI or GIA grading report. Smaller pavé melee is graded in-house against the same 4C standards.

What is your return and warranty policy?

30 days for unworn pieces in original condition (engraving and custom sizes are final sale). All Diyona bands carry a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects, including free re-polish and re-rhodium plating.
